Matthew 7:13-14

Enter ye in at the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there are who go in thereat. How narrow is the gate, and straight is the way that leadeth to life: and few there are that find it

1 Timothy 2:5

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

WHY DO I NEED SALVATION?

If you died today and God asked you, “Why should I let you into My Heaven? ”, what would you say?

All of mankind, has a Father in Heaven who created them, loves them, and desires that all of His children live in Heaven. This being the case, why does God’s Word tell us that few make it to there? Matthew 7:13-14; Luke 13:24

Earth’s first human couple and our first parents, Adam and Eve were created perfect, and enjoyed delightful communion with their Creator; until they chose to disobey God. Their sin separated them from God and they could no longer bear to be in His presence, and avoided Him. Genesis 3:8; 17  1 John 3:4 This sin brought a judgment, called ‘the curse’ to Earth, and now men would live with death, sickness and trouble. (The Fall of Man and The Original Sin: Genesis 3:1-24)

This damaging choice that violated God’s law, changed the course for all of mankind going forward; as all men were then under the curse. Just as we inherit physical characteristics from our parents, we inherit our sinful nature from Adam and Eve, and now all are sinful in the eyes of God. Romans 3:23 Romans 5:12 Psalm 51:5 No one is righteous, and if a person breaks one of God’s laws, they are just as guilty as if breaking them all. Romans 3:10 James 2:10 This means that the punishment for our sin, is eternal separation from God, in Hell. God’s Word explains: “The wages of sin is death.” Romans 6:23 This punishment for sin may seem harsh, but this perfect God is a God of justice, and therefore, He must punish all sin. Isaiah 13:11 Genesis 18:23

We will all stand before God and be judged for all that we did, said, thought, and abstained from doing; as well as our actions and reactions; everything good and bad whether secret or open, and all in between; and all sin will be judged. Revelation 20:12, Ecclesiastes 12:14

But there is Good News and it is called The Gospel: God, demonstrated His redeeming love for us, while we were still sinners; and offered the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ, to take the death penalty on our behalf. Jesus was crucified on a cross as our substitute for sin. Any person, no matter how terrible your sins may be, can be forgiven. You must trust and follow Jesus Your Savior, and receive Him by personal invitation. His path of salvation, ‘the narrow road’, (Matthew 7:14is outlined in God’s Word and will teach you how to live. This important decision will enable you to have a personal relationship with God, Jesus Christ, and The Holy Spirit and a place in Heaven. Romans 6:22 John 3:16 -17 1 Timothy2:5 1Peter 3:18 Romans 5:8, 10:13; Isaiah 53:7

Many believe that being a good person qualifies them for Heaven, but those who have not asked Jesus to save them from the penalty of sin, cannot have a relationship with God.  No one is good enough or kind enough, to be righteous in God’s eyes; because of sin. Many people try to earn a place in Heaven, by performing good deeds such as attending church, giving money to the poor, being a good person, or by getting baptized or christened. While all of this helps, the truth is that many good and generous people will suffer in Hell, being eternally separated from God; because the penalty for their sin has not been paid. Good deeds are not enough, as it is impossible to earn Salvation. The Way of Salvation is a gift that opens the door for a personal relationship with God. Revelation 3:20 John 15:15 Romans 6:23 Luke 13:24

John: 3:1-21 puts forth a world changing conversation between Jesus and Nicodemus, a wealthy young ruler who questioned the concerns of his salvation and the path to Heaven. Jesus explained that he must be born ‘anew’; translated ‘from above’, or ‘born again’. Jesus elaborated that this was not a fleshly birth, but a spiritual birth, as the Kingdom of God is spiritual; and that our fleshly human nature is depraved. When we make the choice to be ‘born again’, God gives us a renewed spirit; and when your heart makes this promise in earnest, the Holy Spirit miraculously moves into your being and inhabits you. This is why we need Salvation, and if you choose to receive this amazing gift from God, and want to be born again; please refer to the next page: ‘How do I receive Salvation.’
